ATT Giga Install: Update
Posted on August 17, 2016 10:23 AM by Chris Corcoran, Board President
After speaking with a project leader I have some details that I wanted to share with the community. AT&T has hired some companies to install fiber optic cable so that they can provide their fastest internet service. Ansco & Associates is managing the project for AT&T. Ansco hires contractors to do the work. The company that is working on the install is AJC Contracting.
AJC is currently focused on the Deer Spring section of the neighborhood. Please see the below maps that illustrate their current scope. They are legally allowed to do this installation because of the utility easements on your property. Please do not berate or yell at the workers or supervisors who have been hired to work on this project.
They are just doing their job in this miserably hot sun. They are doing their best to avoid hitting any utilities, but accidents do occur.
Residents in the Arbor Point section already experienced the installation. Yes, there were issues with hitting gas lines and water lines. In many cases this is not the fault of the workers who are doing the installation. They strictly follow the markings that USIC (a separate company) indicated. We had an incident yesterday where they hit a gas line that was seven feet away from a marking. Incidents like this do happen, unfortunately, but Ansco is willing to right their wrongs. Please call Ansco between 7 am and 7 pm at 877-245-6660. You can reference AT&T job number 62L41575N. If you cannot get a hold of them or are not satisfied with their assistance please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for your patience as they work on this install. This section should take around 2 weeks depending on the weather. I requested that Ansco provide me details about what section of the neighborhood they will work on next but I have not received any information yet. Apparently they cannot do the entire neighborhood at once so we will keep you posted as we get more information.
