Harris Teeter Together in Education
Let's support our community schools!  By linking your Harris Teeter VIC cardto your school of choice, you can help schools earn extra funds for educational needs by simply doing the shopping you are already doing!  You can do this even if you do not have children attending!
 
 
Each August residents just need to go to Harris Teeter's website and link their VIC card to these schools.  They can choose one of the three schools or select all of them.  A percentage of the dollars spent on Harris Teeter brand products will go to these schools.  They will receive checks three times during the year.
 
How long does this program run? August 1 - May 31
The contribution schedule looks like this:

August - November 1st Contribution to schools (Paid in December)
December - February 2nd Contribution to schools (Paid in March)
March- May 3rd Contribution to schools (Paid in June)
Current Stats
Smithfield - ID# 3050 - 147 people signed up; $170.01 raised so far this year
Quail Hollow - ID# 1471 - 64 people signed up; $76.66 raised so far this year
South Meck - ID #2192 - 243 people; $332.88 raised so far this year
 
Easy step by step instructions for signing up:

1.  Go to www.harristeeter.com
2.  Click the Community Tab dropdown and select Together in Education.
3.  Click Link to Your School on the left hand side of the page.
4.  Follow the instructions.  Registered web site users and completely new users can sign up.
 
Registered Users
 
If you are already a member of My Harris Teeter, follow the directions below:

      - Simply enter your email address and password under the Returning Users section.
      - You will be redirected to your dashboard.
      - Click on 'Together In Education' in the left hand side navigation to link to your schools.
      - Click 'Add School' and search for the school that you would like to link to your VIC card.
      - Once you find the school, click on it to add to the 'Current Schools' section.
      - If you would like to link to a previous school, click 'Make Current' by the name of the school in the 'Previous Schools' section.
 
New Users
      - Click the 'Sign Up' button.
      - Fill in ALL of the required fields (Last Name, Zip Code, VIC card number and/or phone number) and click 'Submit.'
      - Choose your name out of the list of names provided to you, and click 'Continue.'
      - Choose the email that you would like to create a profile for, or create a new email address, and click 'Continue.'
      - Fill out the required fields, denoted by a red * and click 'Save.'
      - You will be redirected to your 'Manage Subscriptions' page.
      - Click on 'Together In Education' in the left hand side navigation to link to your schools.
      - Click 'Add School' and search for the school that you would like to link to your VIC card.
      - Once you find the school, click on it to add to the 'Current Schools' section.
      - If you would like to link to a previous school, click 'Make Current' by the name of the school in the 'Previous Schools' section.
 
You can search by the school's name or code.
Smithfield Elementary = 3050
Quail Hollow Middle School = 1471
South Meck High School = 2192
Quail Hollow Middle School is the lowest rated of the three schools and needs the most financial support.
 
 
 
NeighborWoods Tree Grant
We are thankful to have won a grant from the city and TreesCharlotte for free trees and are currently working on preparation for the plant day on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
 
If you are interested in the program and haven't yet expressed interest please email HOA president Chris Corcoran at christophercorcoran@hotmail.com .  Over 70 residents have already reached out to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and participate in the community planting event.

Please join us for an Open House on November 3 at 9:30 a.m.You'll get to see classes in action and take a tour of our campus. Principal Allison Plunkett and Assistant Principal Jill Trotter will be on hand to share information about the curriculum and programs that make Smithfield so unique.

Join us Saturday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. at Cameron Wood Swim and Racquet Clubhouse for blackjack, roulette, craps and fun. Light refreshments will be served and BYOB. FUNNY money of $300 will be included in ticket price of $30.

Tickets will be limited and available October 1.  Open to all CW residents as well as family & friends outside of CW.
Proceeds will be provided to organizations that assist families impacted by colon cancer in honor of our friend and Blue Ribbon Warrior, Doc Mahaffey.
